Six bombs found at construction site in Chattogram

Six bombs were unearthed on Monday afternoon during soil excavation work for a building foundation in the Purba Madarbari area of Chattogram city.

The objects were found around 1:00pm beneath an under-construction building near the Rabeya Workshop, under the jurisdiction of Sadarghat Police Station. Construction workers reported the find while digging soil for piling work.

Sadarghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Rahim confirmed the discovery and said a team from the Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Bomb Disposal Unit is currently at the scene.

"The items appear to be old and abandoned, but we cannot confirm their weight, type, or whether they are active until tests are completed," the OC stated.

The Bomb Disposal Unit is examining the objects to determine their nature and ensure public safety.
