BFF signs 18 ‘Rebel’ female footballers

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has formally signed contracts with 18 female footballers, including national team captain Sabina Khatun, who were previously labelled as ‘rebels’ for their stance on team management issues.

The contract process was completed online, with BFF President Tabith Awal and Women's Wing Chairperson Mahfuza Akhter Kiron signing on behalf of the federation. The players reviewed and approved the contracts before finalising them.

Among the 18 players, eight are currently participating in the national training camp under newly appointed head coach Peter Butler. The remaining ten, including Sabina, Maria, Monika Chakma, Masura Parvin, Krishna Rani Sarkar, Ritu Porna Chakma are presently playing in the Bhutan Women's League.

The BFF had initially signed six-month contracts with 36 female footballers on February 10. With the latest additions, the total number of contracted players now stands at 54.
